I have watched The Bill since day one and seen many good developments over the years. There have oten been low points and quite bizarre storylines.......like the great cast "cull by explosion" story a few years ago.However....The Bill NEEDS the Reg Hollis character....if only as the experienced "do everything by the book" type cop that has been portrayed for over 20 years..........There are many less gifted actors in the cast and even if he is past his sell by date, Reg could still appear once or twice a month or become a trainer, puppy-walker or desk based cop !

I can only echo the sentiments of others on this petition. PC Reg Hollis is, in many respects, THE central character of the bill. Ironically many shows lose their icons because the actors have had enough (heatrbeat, ballykissangel, monarch of the glen). Do not axe Jeff against his will. Please show some decency and keep the most vaild and well acted character on the greatest Anglo show anywhere in the world.

I am an avid "Bill" fan but I just couldn't face watching another episode if Reg is written out of the series. Reg's characted provides the steady, dependable and "human" face of the series (as I am sure the real actor does too). Reg's role keeps the series "grounded" and believable (and watchable) when script writers take off on one silly flight of fancy after another. In many ways Reg is "the Bill" and frankly I don't care how many temper tantrums he wants to throw he deserves the privilege and probably has damn good reason for them!

Once Reg or Tony are taken out of the series I will stop watching the Bill.Nearly all the original characters have now been written out & the series is not as good as when it first started.The body of a series is the longer serving actors, please do not replace Reg with some faceless charactor who will come & go in a couple of years. What an absolutely tragic mistake, it happens with EVERY single great drama I watch. The characters slowly get refreshed and before you know it, all your favorites are gone, and there is simply no reason to continue watching. S****y plot mistakes like the 5 New characters and BIlly Rowan's death mean I'm simply not interested in The Bill anymore. This is by far the final mistake.

Paul Marquess has a lot to answer for with just having only "pretty people"in the cast. It ruined things and took it away from reality. He should have stuck to soap operas and left the Bill as it was.
